Druids Glen Hotel and Golf Resort wish to recruit a Head kitchen porter to work within our successful kitchen Department.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this role will be a friendly with a can-do attitude. A flexible attitude towards shift work is essential as midweek and weekend work is involved.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- To be aware of and to adhere to all health and safety, fire, hygiene and COSHH regulations governing the work you are undertaking and to ensure the correct chemicals/detergents are used at all times.
- Supervising Kitchen Porters, managing performance and training where necessary.
- Assisting the Exe Head Chef with the management of Health & Safety in the Kitchen.
- Ensuring the Kitchen is kept clean, supervising daily and deep cleans.
- Ensuring that the following are kept clean and tidy and to a very high standard:
o Floors & Walls.
o Bins – inside and out.
o Crushing and disposal of cardboard and boxes.
o Fridges & Freezers (with assistance of chefs).
o Back yard and delivery areas
- Management of the Kelsius system
- Assisting the Head Chef with the Management of the Kitchen Porter’s rotas
- To attend training as required by the senior Chef.
- To report all accidents (and near misses) to the senior Chef.
- To report any sightings of pests to the senior chef immediately.
- To report any defects in the building, machinery or equipment to the senior Chef.
- To report any shortages in equipment or chemicals to the Back of House Supervisor.
- To carry out any other reasonable request of the hotel’s management.
Kitchen Porter Responsibilities:
- Cleaning of all utensils and equipment as per Health & Safety guidelines
- Cleaning all Crockery and cutlery.
- Cleaning of staff canteen as per Health & Safety guidelines
- Always adhere to Food Safety, Health & Safety and HACCP procedures.
- General day to day cleaning of the kitchen
- Weekly deep cleaning of kitchen areas
- Ensuring the highest level of cleanliness is followed throughout the day.
- Working as part of the Kitchen team and following instructions from management
- Ability to work efficiently and keep calm, under pressure.
Experience:
- Previous experience is desirable for this role.
