Duties

Basic Function of Position:


Incumbent works as an ACS Assistant in Dubai’s American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit that serves a resident American Citizen population in excess of 30,000 and annual visitors of over 500,000. Provides the full range of complex passport and citizenship services. Serves as case worker for Special Consular Services (SCS), with the focus on welfare/whereabouts, child custody and abduction, victims of crime, and arrests, among others. Advises officers on SCS case course of action and on routine services such as passport, reports of birth abroad, and notary services. Serves as ACS anti-fraud investigator and confirms the authenticity of documents for legal purposes. Responds to email and phone inquiries from customers, and to congressional inquiries on the full range of ACS issues. Manages and maintains American citizen registry system and American Liaison Network. Coordinates with USG agencies such as the Social Security Administration, Internal Revenue Service, and Department of Homeland Security to assist U.S. citizens in the UAE. On call after hours to assist in emergency cases and crises.

Requirements:

Note: All applicants must currently hold or be able to acquire a UAE residency visa to fill the position. For non-UAE nationals, the Mission assists in obtaining the required residency visa to lawfully work in the UAE. Refer to Eligibility Question #2 and Vacancy Question #1: If a non-UAE national has a valid UAE residency visa, they should answer Yes to Eligibility Q#2 and Vacancy Q#1, and attach a copy of residency visa.


EXPERIENCE
: Three years of working experience in the area of consular or immigration customer services is required.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
